🔥START WITH 40: Day 14 – Joy in the Trial

Hard Roads Can Grow Holy Roots
📖 James 1:2–4 (ESV)
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness…”

❤️ Devotional
Joy isn’t the absence of pain—it’s the presence of purpose.
Trials don’t mean God is absent. They mean God is refining.
He’s producing something deeper than comfort—He’s growing steadfastness, maturity, fire.
So don’t just try to escape the trial. Ask, “What is God producing in me through it?”

🎺 Takeaway of the Day
• “Count it all joy…” – What would change if you saw your trial as training?
• “Testing… produces steadfastness…” – What is God shaping in you through difficulty?
• “Let steadfastness have its full effect…” – Are you letting the trial grow you—or just surviving it?

🙏 Prayer
God, help me trust You in the trial. Let joy rise even in the hard places, because I know You’re working. Grow me deeper, stronger, and closer to You. Amen.

🔥 WEEK TWO REFLECTION

“Strength for the Journey. Grace for the Climb.”

Two weeks in… and the flame is growing.

By now, you’ve been challenged to walk in freedom, surrender your fears, embrace your calling, and remember who you are in Christ. But don’t forget—grace is not earned by performance, it’s received by faith. This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about keeping your eyes on Jesus, one step at a time.

✍️ JOURNAL QUESTIONS

Take a few quiet minutes to reflect and write.

  1. What truth did you need most this week? Why?
  2. Which day or verse hit you hardest? What is God saying to you through it?
  3. Where did you experience resistance, and how did you respond?
  4. What are you still holding on to that God is asking you to release?
  5. How are you seeing your identity in Christ more clearly?

🙏 REFLECTION PRAYER

Lord, I thank You for the strength You’ve given me this week.
Thank You for meeting me in the hard places, the quiet places, and the sacred ones.
I lay down every weight and every worry again today.
Shape me. Refine me. Remind me I am Yours.
Prepare me for Week Three. Let Your Word be fire in my bones. Amen.
